yardland, and a half. There is 1 ploughland, 1 acre and a half of meadow, and an acre of wood. It is worth 20 ſhillings. A Thane holds 2 yardlands and a half under Ernulfus in the ſame village, and he might T.R.E. addict himſelf to what lord he might think proper, and in the preſent reign he choſe Ernulfus for his lord. This land was valued at 15 ſhillings; now at 40 pence, which is paid as rent to Ernulfus.

19. Urfo holds Devrel under Ernulfus. Ulmarus held it T.R.E. and it was aſſeſſed at 2 hides and a half, and half a yardland. Here are 3 ploughlands. One hide and a half is in demeſne, confiding of 2 ploughlands with 3 ſervants. Two borderers and 6 cottagers occupy 1 ploughland. The mill pays 5 ſhillings. There are 2 acres of meadow; and the paſture is 3 quarters of a mile long, and a furlong broad; and there is the ſame quantity of wood. It was worth 30 ſhillings, now 50.
