Missionary official; b. Galion, Ohio; dau. Aaron J. and Olive W. Lyon; grad. Ohio Wesleyan Univ., B.L. 80, A.M. '11; m. Sept. 30, 1882, Rev. William Fraser McDowell, now bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Always actively interested in mission work of the Methodist Episcopal Church and since 1908 has been president of the Woman's Foreign Missionary Soc. of that church, and with her husband visited in 1910 and 1911 many of the mission stations of the M.E. Church in the Philippine Islands, Japan, Korea, China, India and Europe. Delegate to Edinburgh Missionary Conference, 1910; editor of Our Work for the World, 1913.

MacEUEN, Mary Carnell (Mrs. Edward Allen MacEuen), 3731 Spruce St., Philadelphia, Pa.

Photographer; b. Glassboro, N.J., 1865; dau. William and Hannah (Gillman) Carnell; ed. Glassboro High School; m. Philadelphia, Nov. 13, 1900, Edward Allen MacEuen. After eight years partnership, in summer of 1990, assumed sole control of studio (1314 Chestnut St.); won prizes and honors at State and National competitive exhibitions of photographic societies, 1900-02; became interested in woman's work; organized the Woman's Fed. of the Photographic Ass'n of America and presided over same three years. Pres. Ladies' Auxiliary Old Guard State Fencibles six years, and reëlected; also pres. three years of a Fortnightly Club; interested in philanthropic work. Mem. Davis) bibliography entitled, "A Selected List of Plays for Amateurs and Students," 1908; in 1911 her play, "The Product of the Mill," won $509 Harvard-Radcliffe prize, offered annually by John Craig, of the Castle Square Theatre, Boston.
