Text in margin?[edit]

What is the best way to handle the text in the margin of this page? Much of this document includes a separate column on the outer edge of the page -- in the original source text, it's about 1 inch wide. Here, the only text is "July 4, 1776," but on some of the other pages the marginal notes are quite extensive. I've used {{sidenotes begin}} and {{sidenotes end}} here, but is there a better way? Using {{bottom border}} yields results that are visually closer to the original than <u>...</u>, although some attention from those better acquainted with CSS would be most welcome. Tarmstro99 19:17, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
