The Proceedings of the Royal Geographical Society of London was published in 22 volumes between 1855 and 1878. It then changed its name to Proceedings of the Royal Geographical Society and Monthly Record of Geography. In 1881 it absorbed the Journal of the Royal Geographical Society of London. Since 1893 it has been named The Geographical Journal, which is still published to this day, although since 2000 it is no longer the journal of report for the Society.
