ROBERT OLIVER, Esq.

Obtained the rank of lieutenant in Jan. 1806; and commanded the boats of the Espoir sloop. Captain Robert Mitford, in a dashing little affair on the coast of Calabria, April 4th, 1810[1]. He soon afterwards assisted at the capture of an armed ship and three barks, under the castle of Terrecino. We lastly find him serving under the late Sir George Burlton, in the Ville de Paris 110, and Boyne 98, on the Mediterranean station. His promotion to the rank of commander took place Aug. 27th, 1814.
