| The Saskatchewan Herald was established by Patrick Gammie Laurie in 1878 at Battleford, Canada. It was the first newspaper in todays Canadian Province of Saskatchewan. Laurie remained main editor until his death in 1903, which also meant the end of the newspaper. The point of view is that of the Anglo-Canadian settlers of the time and Laurie himself was even compared to these a radical beeing strongly related to the so called Canadian Party and befriended to its founder John Christian Schultz. |
