| Notes: | The Navy General Order lists the date as November 16, which is the date of Executive Order 712, the text of which is printed right afterwards in General Order 58, released on the same day (December 9), in the above source -- which has a date of November 28. The "Presidential Executive Orders" book by Clifford Lee Lord has this order as #716 on November 28, so I'm using that date, and presuming that the Navy General Orders (or just that printing) mixed up the two dates. |
