Restoring italics from the original German text[edit]

Previous revisions were missing the italics, bold words emphases, and paragraph splittings of the original German text. Most other versions of Abbott's translation found online are like this one, except the one at bartleby, which however according to their Terms of Use, cannot be reproduced or used commercially. So it can't be just copied and pasted to wikisource.

The latest revision reapplyies the original formatting (italics and other emphases, paragraph splittings). Abbott's translation's pdf (without workable ocr) can be found here at archive.org. The original text translitered from Gothic to modern German can be found at zeno.org and in Kirchmann's 1870 edition at archive.org.--
