I have found this story anthologized quite a few times, mostly in turn of the century publications (i.e. 1900 through about 1920). The earliest date I found for it is 1851, but I'm not sure if that's the first publication. --Midnightdreary (talk) 18:52, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
