This is by Thucydides, not by Pericles himself

No, AFAIK, it was only recorded (and probably edited) by Thucydides, but it was actually by Pericles himself. (See w:Pericles' Funeral Oration) Mr. Absurd 21:16, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
