"Love, to man, is leaping fire,"

[edit]

I can't find what poem this is. Interesting... FPTI (talk) 01:43, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

I, too, have looked without success. I resorted to AI (Microsoft), which claims it is from a poem called 'Love', by Robert Bridges, and quotes what it claims is the whole poem, consisting of two 5-line stanzas. However, only the first two lines correspond, the rest is completely different from the quote in 'The Art of Kissing'. I have checked editions of Bridges' collected works on IA and none feature a poem called 'Love' or one with an opening line of "Love, to man, is leaping fire". The evidentiary link Bing provides is to an article about a completely different poem by a different poet. Chrisguise (talk) 04:08, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
