ALDERMAN, Edward Sinclair, educator, was born at Wilmington, N.C., July 27, 1861. He was graduated from Wake Forest college, N.C., in 1883, and from the Southern Baptist theological seminary, Louisville, Ky., in 1886. He was ordained, July 4, 1886, at Wilmington, N.C., and was pastor at Chapel Hill, N.C., and Paris, Woodlake and Russellville, Ky., 1886-98. He was elected president of Bethel college, Russellville, Ky., in 1898. Bethel college conferred on him the degree of D.D. in 1898.
