ON TAKING THE OATH.

We believe it wrong to swear or to take the civil oath in giving our evidence before courts of justice or elsewhere, but simply affirm or deny by using the Scriptural expressions "yea" and "nay." "But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation."
