Moore, Hon. David, who is a native of New South Wales was an early colonist of Port Phillip, and after the name had been changed to Victoria, and responsible government had been conceded, he was returned to the first Legislative Assembly as one of the four members for Melbourne in Oct. 1856. Mr. Moore, who was a merchant in the latter city, was President of the Board of Land and Works in the second Haines Ministry from April 1857 to March 1858.
