BODMER, bŏd'mār, Georg, Swiss mechanic: b. Zürich, 6 Dec. 1786; d. Zürich, 29 May 1864. He invented the screw and cross wheels and made valuable improvements in firearms and in various kinds of machinery, particularly in that of wool spinning.
