Hasanpur, Raja of; Mahommed Mehdi Ali Khan; A certain Jai Chand (of the clan of Bachkoti Rajputs) embraced the Moslem faith under the name of Tatar Khan and it is from him the present Raja is descended. At the time of the Mutiny of 1857, Husain Ali Khan, the then holder of the estate was in command of a rebel army at Sultanpur against the British but after the mutiny, he was pardoned and restored to his estate and the family has since then remained faithful to the British. The present Raja is an Honorary Magistrate for the Police Circles of Sultanpur, Jaisingpur and Kurebhar. The estate comprises 102 villages and 6 patties in Sultanpur, and 2 villages and one patti in Fyzabad; Raja, 1864. Address: Hasanpur, Sultanpur, U.P., India.
