Moore, Lieutenant-General Sir Henry, C.I.E., (1878); K.C.B., (1897), Indian Army, (retired); b. 1829; joined the Indian Army in Bombay, 1850; served in Persia, 1857 (medal with clasp); served in Indian Mutiny, 1858 (despatches, medal); Abyssinia, 1867-68 (despatches, medal, Brevet-Major); Lushai Expedition, 1871-72 (despatches, clasp, Brevet-Colonel); Afghanistan, 1878-79 (despatches, medal, C.B.); served in Egypt, 1882 (medal with clasp, bronze star, 3rd class Osmanich).
