SCHULZE, Friedrich August (l770-1849). A German novelist, born in Dresden. His first novel, Der Mann, auf Freiersfüssen (1801), was favorably received, but his work as a whole is without particular value. Under the pseudonym Friedrich Laun he wrote many volumes, and with Apel edited a Gespensterbuch (1810-14).
