The death is announced as having occurred on Saturday, at 4, Argyll-road, W. of Mr. Frederick Brooksbank Garnett, C.B.. He was the eldest son of the late Mr. William Garnett, of Westmorland, Inspector-General of Stamps and Taxes, and was born in 1827. From 1875 to 1882 he was secretary to the Board of Inland Revenue, and Surveyor-General from 1882 to 1886, and Special Commission of Income-tax. He married, in 1863, Mary daughter of the late Lieutenant-Colonel John Laurie, R.A., of Maxwelton; she died in 1893.
