Dr. J. W. Mackail

The funeral of Dr. John William Mackail, O.M., took place yesterday at Golders Green Crematorium. The Rev. W. I. Bulman officiated. Among those present were:—
Mr. and Mrs. Denis Mackail (son and daughter-in-law), Mrs. Angela Thirkell (daughter), Miss Mary and Miss Ann Mackail (granddaughters), Sister C. J. Baxter, Mrs. Richardson.
Sir Frederic Kenyon, Sir Sydney Cockerell, Mr. J. N. Bryson (representing the Master and Fellows of Balliol College, Oxford), Mrs. J. L. Garvin, Mrs. Michael Joseph, Mr. Giblert Barker, Mrs. Hope Bagenal, Mr. F. W. Jekyll, Miss Armstrong (Sunday Shakespeare Society), Mr. C. H. Major (Gallery First Nighters' Club), and Mr. Otto Sallmann (Elizabethan Literary Society).
