(retired), 1897; served in Afghan War, 1879-80, present at march from Quetta to Kandahar; D.A.A. and Q.M.G. with Soudan Expedition, 1885; S. Africa, 1899-1900, as Comdt. at Taalbosch: was D.A.A.G., Bombay, 1878-80; formerly Lieut.-Col. Comdg. a Batt. Kind's Royal Rifle Corps, and an A.D.C. to H.M.; eldest son of the late Very Rev. Maurice Atkin Cooke-Collis, D.D., of Castle Cooke, Co. Cork; b. 1847; m., 1st, 1875, Katherine Maria (d. 1891). dau. of the late Col.
