Establishing Changwat Samut Prakan, Changwat Nonthaburi,


Changwat Samut Sakhon and Changwat Nakhon Nayok,


Buddhist Era 2489 (1946)

Enacted under our Hand this 8th Day of May, Buddhist Era 2489 (1946);


Being the 13th Year of our Reign.



Somdet Phra Chao Yu Hua Ananda Mahidol is graciously pleased to proclaim that:

Whereas it is desirable to improve the territories of Changwat Phra Nakhon and Changwat Thon Buri, Changwat Prachin Buri and Changwat Sara Buri, by establishing Changwat Samut Prakan, Changwat Nonthaburi, Changwat Samut Sakhon and Changwat Nakhon Nayok;

Be it enacted by the King's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the House of Representatives, as follows:



§ 1

This Act shall be cited as the "Act Establishing Changwat Samut Prakan, Changwat Nonthaburi, Changwat Samut Sakhon and Changwat Nakhon Nayok, Buddhist Era 2489 (1946)".


§ 2

This Act shall come into force upon its publication in the Government Gazette.[1]


§ 3

Amphoe Samut Prakan, Amphoe Bang Phli, Amphoe Bang Bo and Amphoe Phra Pradaeng shall be separated from the administration of Changwat Phra Nakhon to constitute a Changwat called Changwat Samut Prakan.


§ 4

Amphoe Nonthaburi and Amphoe Pak Kret shall be separated from the administration of Changwat Phra Nakhon, whilst Amphoe Bang Kruai, Amphoe Bang Yai and Amphoe Bang Bua Thong shall be separated from the administration of Changwat Thon Buri, to constitute a Changwat called Changwat Nonthaburi.


§ 5

Amphoe Samut Sakhon, Amphoe Krathum Baen and Amphoe Ban Phaeo shall be separated from the administration of Changwat Thon Buri to constitute a Changwat called Changwat Samut Sakhon.


§ 6

Amphoe Nakhon Nayok, Amphoe Ongkharak and Amphoe Pak Phli shall be separated from the administration of Changwat Prachin Buri, whilst Amphoe Ban Na shall be separated from the administration of Changwat Sara Buri, to constitute a Changwat called Changwat Nakhon Nayok.


§ 7

The Minister of Interior shall be in charge of this Act.
