2566 BE

Phra Bat Somdet Phra Paramenthra Ramathipbodi Sisinthra Maha Vajiralongkorn
Phra Wachiraklao Chaoyuhua

Given on the 17th day of March 2566 BE
Being the 8th year of the present reign

Phra Bat Somdet Phra Paramenthra Ramathipbodi Sisinthra Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Wachiraklao Chaoyuhua gives a great royal command by which He orders with His pleasure that it be announced as follows:

Whereas the Prime Minister has humbly made the following submission to Him: As the House of People's Representatives has performed duties since 2562 BE and has now closed the ordinary session of its fourth year, which is the last year of its term, it is appropriate to dissolve the House of People's Representatives so as to organise a general election of new Members of the House of People's Representatives in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, which is the expeditious return of the power of making political decisions to the people in order to allow the administration under the regime of democracy with a Monarch as Head [of State] to continue continuously;

Therefore, by virtue of the powers under the stipulations of section 103 and section 175 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, He orders with His gracious pleasure that the following Royal Decree be enacted:

Section1.This Royal Decree is called the "Royal Decree Dissolving the House of People's Representatives, 2566 BE".

Section2.This Royal Decree shall come into force from the day of its publication in the Royal Gazette onwards.

Section3.The House of People's Representatives shall be dissolved in order to enable a general election of new Members of the House of People's Representatives.

Section4.A general election of Members of the House of People's Representatives shall take place on the day designated by an announcement of the Election Commission, which must not be sooner than forty-five days, but not later than sixty days, reckoned from the day of coming into force of this Royal Decree.

Section5.The President of the Election Commission shall be in charge of the execution of this Royal Decree.

Countersignatory:
General Prayut Chan-o-cha
Prime Minister
