Why Cantonese and what is Yüt6ping3?[edit]
The poem was written in Middle Chinese. Mandarin's presence is understandable, but why is Cantonese there and why is it not in Jyutping or Yale? Yüt6ping3 doesn't even have an article about it.—unsigned comment by 166.70.219.249 (talk) 12:51, 25 April 2019.
^^ Yüt6ping3 is probably an alternative spelling of jyutping, the prounouciation written matches up.
cantonese is there probably becuase its been noted that it retains more orf middle chinese's pronounciation, which is what the poem was written for. while not perfect, cantonese does give the poem more rhythm than mandarin does, which is probably why its there.—unsigned comment by 153.107.24.51 (talk) 00:36, 23 October 2019.
