access control - Organizations must limit information system access to authorized users, process acting on behalf of authorized users or devices (including other information systems), and to the types of transactions and functions that authorized users are permitted to exercise. Also called AC (SOURCE - DOS/ USAID. FAH, 5 FAH-11 H-512.2)

access control - The process of granting or denying specific requests to - 1) obtain and use information and related information processing services; and 2) enter specific physical facilities (e.g. Federal buildings, military establishments, and border crossing entrances).
