Chap. III.—An Act to extend the time for locating certain donations in Arkansas.
Time limited by act of May 24, 1828, ch. 108.
And by act of Jan. 6, 1829, ch. 2, for locating certain donations, extended one year from May 24, 1830.
Proviso: locations restricted to actual settlements prior to May 24, 1830.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That so much of an act of Congress, approved twenty-fourth of May, eighteen hundred and twenty-eight, entitled “An act to aid the state of Ohio in extending the Miami canal from Dayton to Lake Erie, and to grant a quantity of land to said state to aid in the construction of canals, authorized by law, and for making donations of land to certain persons in Arkansas territory;” and, also, so much of an act approved 6th January, eighteen hundred and twenty-nine, entitled “An act restricting the location of certain land claims, in the territory of Arkansas, and for other purposes,” as limits the time of locating those donations, be, and the same is hereby continued in force, for the further term of one year, from the twenty-fourth day of May next: Provided, That no locations shall be made within the further time allowed by this act, which shall not include the actual settlement made by the claimant prior to the twenty-fourth day of May next.
