This is a description of what the basic hierarchy scheme of categories for the 1911 Encyclopedia Project. If you add categories to this hierarchy, it would be encouraged to update this basic category scheme to show relationships between various categories.

Keep in mind that an individual article can be in multiple categories, and that some categories can be placed in multiple locations within the hierarchy as having multiple parent categories. This is just a general tool to help locate a particular category.
