DALSTON SYNAGOGUE.

AN HISTORICAL SKETCH

PREPARED BY

THE REV. D. WASSERZUG

BY THE DESIRE OF THE

"MEMBERS' PRESENTATION COMMITTEE,"

TO COMEMORATE THE

25th anniversary of the Inauguration of the
Dalston Synagogue in Poet's Road.

PREFACE.

In preparing this sketch, I have derived my information principally from the Minute-Books of the Congregation and the different institutions herein dealt with. This I have supplemented by referring to the records published in the Jewish Chronicle, and by direct communication with the ladies and gentlemen who were at one time or another prominently associated with the many-sided activity of the Congregation. To Mesdames Altman, I. Goldston, M. Hyamson, J. Lesser, and the late Miss M. Moses; and Messrs. W. Benscher, Isaac Goldston, Percy Josephs, J. A. Rozelaar, J. Vandenbergh, and the Editor of the Jewish Chronicle I hereby tender my cordial acknowledgments for the valuable assistance which they rendered me.

D. WASSERZUG.
