Special header template for Executive Orders

Hi, there is a special header template for the POTUS Executive Orders: {{potus-eo}}. This way we get consistency across all the EO in terms of layout and the various fields. If possible, could you switch the ones you've been doing over? Thanks, Beeswaxcandle (talk) 09:05, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

Category:works by author

Wikisource doesn't categories works by author. We use the Author: namespace for this instead, adding subpages if necessary. We do have categories for works by form and by genre, but not by author. --EncycloPetey (talk) 05:14, 4 July 2017 (UTC)

That category should be depopulated, and listed at his author page. Sometimes we don't catch these errors when they first appear. --EncycloPetey (talk) 05:32, 4 July 2017 (UTC)

Again, we don't generally categorize works by author. There is an ongoing discussion about whether this should apply in situations similar to this one, and you might read/comment in the Scriptorium on that issue. --EncycloPetey (talk) 18:55, 8 October 2017 (UTC)

Sure but why use generic names? There are several "National security presidential memorandum 1"s but probably only one "Rebuilding the U.S. Armed Forces". Why is it better to have these non-specific names? —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 06:34, 9 November 2017 (UTC)

•  Comment Works need to be named on a holistic descriptive fashion. These are works that sit in a complete corpus of Wikisource works for the world, and for all time. Linking terms to Wikipedia articles

Thanks for providing the text of various Executive Orders and Proclamations (etc.). I've noticed that you provide many links to Wikipedia in the texts you submit. Please note that such linking should generally be limited to technical terms that readers may want to investigate further, and point to articles that are (or contain sections that are) specifically relevant to the usage of the term in the text. In other words, linking a word like "September" is completely unnecessary, and linking terms like "review" or "information" to articles having those same names at Wikipedia is unlikely to give readers specific, useful information. Even a more-relevant article like "History of the United States" is unlikely to be useful to readers since it is way too general a topic. OTOH, linking a term like "order" to the "Executive order (United States)" article (when that is the intended meaning in the text) is arguably potentially useful (IMO — other users may not agree). In the case of linking to simply clarify the meaning of a word or term, linking to Wiktionary may be more appropriate than to Wikipedia. - dcljr (talk) 21:25, 9 December 2017 (UTC)
