Richard Launcelot Maury
(1840–1907)
Lawyer, soldier in the Confederate States Army (Lieutenant Colonel) and a Mexican Commissioner of Immigration. Eldest son of Matthew Fontaine Maury and Founder of The Southern Historical Society Papers [SHSP] where he spent 20 years working as Executive on saving history of the civil war in the South. Became multi-millionaire in mining investments in South America.
