Born, Pennsylvania, where he was first admitted to the bar; came to Colorado in 1888; immediately went to the fore in his profession, and in 1893 was elected District Judge, serving in that capacity until 1917, with the except'on of one term; in January, 1917, re- signed his place on the District Bench to take his place on the Su- preme Court Bench for a term of ten years ; three sons ; address, Capitol, Denver.
