Flatland, a Romance of Many Dimensions, a fictional work of social satire, mathematics, philosophy and theology by Edwin Abbott Abbott. Prepublication version issued in October, first ed. in November, and second corrected edition in December of 1884. Frequently republished, the early American editions are often based on the first.
