Index talk:Richard Nixon's presidential daily calendar - 1969.djvu
Created {{Nixon-DD}} and {{Nixon-DD-entry}} to help entering the tables. Usage as follows:
{{Nixon-DD | location = <!-- place day began --> | date = <!-- date --> | time = <!-- time and day --> | time2 = <!-- when time and day text wraps to next line --> }} {{Nixon-DD-entry | in = <!-- time in --> | out = <!-- time out --> | lo = <!-- local call --> | ld = <!-- long distance call --> | activity = <!-- activity description --> }} |}
None of the fields are required. Place as many entries as required in a row. You can end table with {{end}} or with |} --T. Mazzei (talk) 03:43, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- Beautiful! I haven't looked at all the potential use cases, but would it break anything to wrap activity in a hanging indent in the template rather than have to do so everywhere in the text? Prosody (talk) 21:11, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
- I wrapped activity in a hanging indent, and also created {{Nixon-DD-entry-nohi}}, for use when a hanging indent is not wanted.--T. Mazzei (talk) 02:58, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
Another template for the page number thing at the bottom: {{Nixon-DD-footer}}. Prosody (talk) 17:42, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
Spacing following: "President met with:"
[edit]Should there be a standard spacing for the list of individuals the president met?
While proofreading I noticed that some choose to leave the template alone (1em), some add a single or double indent ":" or "::", others add the "gap" element with anything from "gap|2.77em" to "gap|6em", and some choose to use breaks "br/" to format the lists.
Examples:
Example of Template with single ":" indent
Example of Template with double "::" indent
Example of Template with "gap" used
Example of Template using break "br/"
Also, in instances where an indent is found in the original document, should the spacing be recreated using "gap" or by adding an additional indent ":::"?
Example: Indent before H.R. Haldeman during the 8:30-9:15 Meeting -- Rino Landa (talk) 10:44pm, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
I’m assuming (from looking at validated pages) that the consensus is to use "::" for lists and ":::" where an extra indent is called for.Zoeannl (talk) 00:55, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
Also we use <u>Lorum</u> for underlining Zoeannl (talk) 00:57, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
