Grapel, William, M.A., St. John's Coll., Camb., 1850, author of Sources of the Roman Civil Law and of Translation of the Institutes of Justinian, taxing officer on South-eastern circuit, a student of Lincoln's Inn 24 April, 1847 (then aged 25), called to the bar 6 June, 1853 (only son of William Grapel, of Liverpool); born 7 June, 1822.
