MAES-CANINI, JAN BAPTIST LODEWYCK, born in Ghent, Sept. 30, 1794, died in Rome, April, 1856. History and portrait painter, pupil of Ghent Academy under his father, received numerous prizes and medals from the Art Unions in the Netherlands, and in 1821 went to Rome. Member of Ghent Academy.
