' An Aft againft the Importation of Gunpowder, Arms, and other Ammunition, and Utenfil^ of War. < TT rHERE AS to the great Prejudice of this Kingdom, and the Difcouragement and Impoverifliment « W of the Gun-fmiths and other Artificers, great Quantities of Arms and Ammunition have of late ' Years been imported, to the endangering the Peace and Quiet of this Kingdom :' II. For Remedy whereof be it enadted by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice None (hjM jm- ! and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and the Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, port Cun- and by the Authority of the fame. Patents, Licence, or Grant, for the importing of Gunpowder, Arms, Ammunition, or other Utenfils of
War, by way of Merchandize, to make Profit thereof, other than for the immediate furnifliing of the
