And as to the faid Sum of feventyfeven thoufand Pounds by this Act appropriated on Ace of Half-pay as aforefaid, It is hereby enacted and declared by the Authority aforefaid, That the Ru herein after prefcribed fhall be duly obferved in the Application thereof; that is to fay, '1 hat no Perfon ] io ., „„ fhall have or receive any Part of the fame, who was a Minor under the Age of fixteen Years at the Time when the Regiment, Troop or Company, in which he ferved, was reduced ; that no Perfon fhall have or receive any Part of the fame, except fuch Perfons who did actual Service in fome Regiment, Troop or Company; That no Perfon, having any other Place or Employment of Profit, Civil or Military, under his Majefty, fhall have or receive any Part of the Half-pay; that no Chaplain of any Garrifon or Re- giment, who has any Ecclefiaftical Benefice, or other Preferment in Great Britain or Ireland, fball have or receive any of the faid Half- pay; that no Perfon fhall have or receive any Part of the fame, who hath reftgned his Commiffion, and has had no Commiffion fincc ; that no Part of the fame fhall be allowed to any Perfons by Virtue of any Warrant or Appointment, except to fuch Perfons who would have been otherwife entitled to the fame as reduced Officers ; and that no Part of the fame fhall be allowed to any of the Officers of the five Regiments of Dragoons, and eight Regiments of Foot, lately disbanded in Ireland, except to fuch as were lately taken off the Eftab!iihme,",t of Half-pay in Great Britain. - feveral Ufes and Purpofes therein exprcfled, among which any Sum or Sums not exceeding the Sum of
' feventy-nine thoufand Pounds, upon Account of H ilf-pay, for the Year one thoufand feven hundred ' and twenty-four, was appropriated to be paid to the reduced Officers of his Majefty's Land-Forcesi and ' Marines, fubjedt neverthelefs to fuch Rules to be obferved in the Application of the faid Half-pay, as ' in and by the aforefaid Act were prefcribed in that Behalf;' Now it is hereby provided, enacted and declared by the Authority aforefaid, That fo much of the faid Sum of feventy-nine thoufand Pounds, as is or fhall be more than fufficient to fatisfy the faid reduced Officers, according to the find Rules by the aforefaid Act prefcribed to be obferved in the Application thereof, or any Part of fuch Overplus, fhall or may be difpofed to fuch Officers who were maimed or loft their Limbs in the late Wars, or to fuch others as by Reafon of their long Service, or otherwife, his Majefty fhall judge to be proper Objects of Charity, or to the Widows or Children of fuch Officers, according to fuch Warrant or Warrants, under his Majefty's Royal Sign Manual, as fhall be figned in that Behalf; any Thing in this Act, or the faid former Act, to the contrary notwithftanding. An Aft for continuing the feveral Annuities of eighty-eight thoufand feven hundred fifty-one Pounds feven Shillings and ten Pence Half-penny, and one hundred thoufand Pounds to the Bank of England, until Midfummer one thoufand feven hundred twenty- feven ; and from thence, for reducing the fame to feventy-one thoufand and one Pounds two Shillings and three Pence three Farthings, and eighty thoufand Pounds, redeemable by Parliament ; and for preventing the uttering of forged, counterfeited or erafed Bank-Bills or Notes, Moft Gracious Sovereign, I. "WJ HER E AS by an Act of Parliament, made and pafled in the feventh Year of the Reign of her 7 Anns, c. 7. VV late Majefty Queen Anne, (of bleffed Memory) intituled, An Ail for enlarging the Capital Stock of the Bank tf England ; and for raijing a further Supply to her Majefly, for the Service of the Tear one thoufand feven hundred and nine ; the Governor and Company of the Bank of England were obliged, in the Manner therein mentioned, to deliver up to be cancelled certain Exchequer-Bills, which had been made forth by a former Act of Parliament in that Behalf; which Bills, with Intereft thereupon, were computed to amount to feventeen hundred feventy-frve thoufand twenty-feven Pounds feventeen Shillings and ten Pence Half-penny ; and to the End 'he faid Governor and Company of the Bank of England, and their Succeffors, might h<ve a competent Recompence and Confideration for fo doing, and for all their Demands relating thereto, it was by the faid Act of the feventh Year of her faid late Majefty's Reign enacted, that from and after the Feaft of Saint Michael the Archangel in the Year of our Lord one thoufan ! feven hundred and ten, the faid Governor and Company of the Bank of England, and their SuccelTors, Ihould have, receive and enjoy one Annuity or yearly Sum of one- hundred and fix thoufand and five hundred and one Pounds thirteen Shillings and five Pence, out of fuch Duties on Houfes as are therein mentioned : But it was thereby provided and enacted, That at any Time, upon one Year's Notice to the faid Governor and Company of the Bank of England, or their Sueceflbrs, and upon full Payment to them of the faid Sum of one million feven hundred feventy-five thoufand twenty-feven Pounds feventeen Shillings and ten Pence Half-penny, and of all Arrears of the faid An- nuity of one hundred and fix thoufand five hundred and one Pounds thirteen Shillings and five Pence per Annum (if ai;y fhould be then due) ; then, and not till then, the faid Annuity of one hundred and fix thoufand five hundred and one Pounds thirteen Shillings and five Pence per Annum, fhould ceafe and ' determine ■<
