His Majefty ex- empted from the Oaths, feven hundred and twenty-feven, the fame fhall not be fufficient to anfwer and fatisfy the yearly Sum of eight hundred thoufand Pounds ; then and 4n every fuch Cafe, and as often as any fuch Deficiency fhall hap- pen, the fame {hall be provided for, anfwered and made good by and out of the then next Aids to be granted in Parliament. VI. Provided neverthelefs, and be it enacted by the Authority afbrefaid, That the feveral and refpective. Duties and Revenues which were payable to his late Majefty King George the Firft, in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland, for and during his Life$ fhall be continued, railed, levied and paid from the Deceafe of his faid late Majefty during the Life of his prefent Majefty King George the Second, in the fame Manner only, and fubject to the fame or the like Charges thereon, as the fame were liable or fubject. to during his faid late Majefty's Life. Vil. Saving always, to all and every Perfon and Perfons, Bodies Politick and Corporate, their Heirs and SucceiYors, Executors, AdminilTrators and Affigns, other than to our faid Sovereign Lord the King, his Heirs and Succeffors, all fuch Rights, Titles, Eftates, Cuftoms, Interefts, Claims and Demands wbatfo- ever, of, in or to, or out of the Revenues, Hereditaments and other the PremifTes afbrefaid, or any of them, as they or any of them had or ought to have had at the making of this Act, as fully and effectually to all In- tents and Puip'ofesj as if this Act had never been made; any Thing herein contained to the contrary not- withftanding. CAP. II. An Act to enable his Majefty to be Governor of the South-Sea Company. II E R E A S the Governor and Company of Merchants of Great Britain trading to the South-Seas and other Parts of America, and for encouraging the Fifhery, have made an humble Addrefs to the King's moft Excellent Majefty, in a general Court of the faid Company, that his Majefty would be graci- oufly pleafed to honour the faid Company with being their Governor, wbereunto his Majefty being willing to condefcend, fome Doubts and Difficulties have arifen, or may arife, touching the Qualifications and Du- ties prefcribed by Law, or by the Charter granted to the faid Company, in relation to the Governors or Government thereof:' For Remedy whereof, Be it enacted and declared by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That his Majefty fhall be capable of being and continuing Governor of the faid Company for fuch Time or Times as are prefcribed by the faid Charter for the Continuance of any Governor therein ; and that fuch Addrefs as aforefaid, or any other Addrefs of the faid Company to be hereafter made in their General Court for the fame Purpofe (in cafe his Majefty fhall be pleafed to accept of being their Governor) fhall from Time to Time be deemed and adjudged to be an Election of his Majefty to be Governor of the faid Company within the true Intent and Meaning of the faid Charter, without the Forms of Balloting or other Methods prefcribed by fuch Charter for electing the Governor of the faid Company ; any Thing in the faid Charter to the contrary notwithftanding. II. And it is hereby declared and enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That the Oaths prefcribed by the faid and may appoint the Sub- Gover- nor, &c. to act i(i his Behalf. fi to his Majefty ; and that his Majefty, in all Cafes where any Vote is to be given or Act to be done by him, as Governor of the faid Company,' may (if his Majefty think fit) by any Warrant or Warrants under his Royal Sign Manual, appoint the Sub-Governor or Deputy-Governor of the faid Company to vote or acl: for him or on his Behalf; any former Law, Statute, Charter or Provifion to the contrary notwithftanding. C A P. III. .An Act for enabling his Majefty to fettle a Revenue for fupporting the Royal Dignity of the Queen in cafe fhe fhall furvive his Majefty. K X P. Royal Virtue hath inflamed our Hearts with the moft dutiful Affection to her Majefty : And whereas by an Act made in the firft Year of the Reign of her late Majefty Queen Anne for preferving the Inheritance of feveral Re- venues of the Crown, intituled, An Ail for the better Support of her Majefty's Houfhold, and of the Honour and Dignity of the Grown, all Grants (other than fuch as are. therein exprefled) are declared to be void; and by another Act made in the ninth Year of her faid late Majefty's Reign, intituled, An Aft for efla- blifhing a General P oft -Office for ail her Majefty s Dominions, and for fettling a weekly Sum out of the Revenues thereof for the Service of the War, and other her Majefty's Occqftons, it was enacted, That fuch Part of the Duties'and, Revenues arifing in or by the General Letter-Office or Poft-Office, which was thereby vefted in her faid late Majefty, her Heirs and Succeffors, and therein mentioned to be undeterminable, fhould not be alienable, chargeable or grantable for any Eftate, Term or Time whatfoever, to endure longer than the Liie cf the King or Queen that fhould make fuch Alienation, Charge or Grant reflectively ; and that all
