An Aft for the Relief of the Annuitants of the War- dens and Commonalty of the Myftery oi Mercers in the City oi London; and for other Pur- pofes therein mentioned. PR. WHEREAS by an Afl made and pafted in the twenty-fourth Year of the Reign of his prefent ^4 Geo, 2. 0,14, Majefty, intituled. An A£i for the explaining and amending an All pajfed in the tiventy-frji Year ofiz. Gto. 2. c.-ifl, the Reign of his prefent Adajejiy, intituled. An Aft for the Relief of the Annuitants of the Wardens and Commonalty of the Myftery o'i Mercers of the City oi London ; and for other Purfofes therein mentioned: It was among other Things enafted. That it ftiould and might be lawful to and for the faid Wardens and Commonalty, and their Succeffors, and they were thereby impowered at any Time after the firft Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and fifty-one, by any Indenture or Indentures under their Common Seal, in Confideration of the ufual Rent, and of the beft Fine that could be got for the fame, to make or frant one or more Leafes of all or any Part of the Manor oi Mercers in the faid Aifl mentioned, with the arms, Lands, Tenements and Hereditaments, and all and every the Rights, Members and Appur- tenances thereto belonging-, and of all other the Lands, Tenements and Hereditaments of and belonging to the faid Company in the Kingdom oi Ireland, to fuch Perfon or Perfons as they fhould think fit, fuch Leafe or Leafes to commence and to take Effistft from and immediately after the Expiration or other Determination of any former Leafes theretofore thereof granted by the (aid Company, and then unex- pired ; and to endure and continue from thenceforth for and during, and unto the full End and Term of fixty-one Years, or to commence and take Effeft from and immediately after the Expiration or other Determination of any Leafe or Leafes, theretofore thereof granted by the faid Company, and then unex- pired, or to endure and continue from thenceforth for and during the natural Lives of fuch three Perfons as fhould at the Time of making fuch laft-mentioned Leafe or Leafes refpeftively, be named by the refpeftive Leffee or Leffees thereof, and be inferted in the faid Leafe or Leafes for that Purpofe, and the Life of the longer Liver of them ; and from and immediately after the Deceafe of the Survivor of fuch of the faid three Perfons, further to endure and continue for and during, and unto the full End and Term of fixty-one Years, to be computed from fuch the Expiration or Determination of the Term or Terms for which the fame Premifles were then leafed out as aforefaid ; by which faid Aft Power was meant and intended among other Things to be given to the faid Wardens and Commonalty, to make or grant a Leafe or Leafes in manner mentioned therein, of the faid Manor of Mercers, and other Lands and Pre- mifles in Ireland, in the faid Aft mentioned, to commence and take Effeft as in the faid Aft is mentioned, and to endure and continue for three Lives, and further to endure and continue for fixty-one Years, in. manner as is more fully contained and expreffed in the faid Aft ; but in that Part of the faid recited Claufe, whereby Power was intended to be given to the faid Wardens and Commonalty to make fuch Leafes, to endure for three Lives as aforefaid, the Word Or, now ftanding there between the Words, and now un- expired, and the Words to endure and continue from thenceforth for and during the natural Lives of fuch three Perfons, was there inferted by Miftake, inftead of the Word And:' Therefore, for the reftifying and amending the faid Miftake, and for preventing and remedying all Doubts and Defefts in and concern- ing the Power fo intended by the faid Aft to be given to the faid vVardens and Commonalty,, may it pleafe your Majefty that it maybe enafted, i^c.
