'HE RE AS by an KQ. paffed in the Parliament of Scotland in the Year one thoufand fix hundred and ninety-three, a Duty of two Pennies Scots was grar.tcd to the Community of the City of ' Edinburgh, and to the Magillrates and Town Council of the iame, and their Succeflbrs in Office, for the ' Ufos therein fpecified, upon every Pint of Ale or Beer either brewed, brought in, or vended, tapped and ' fold, within the faid Town and Suburbs and Liberties thereof, for the Space of fifteen Years and further, ' not exceeding the Space of thirty Years, commencing from the flrft Day of 'Ju!y one thoufand fix hun- 3 Geo. - And whereas the faid City of Pdinbu-rgh, being the Metropolis and Seat of Government of Scot/and, has
