88 Prayer for Wednesday Morning.

To Thee, and to Thee alone, be ascribed all might, majesty,.dominion, and praise, for ever and ever. Our Father, &c.

Wednesday Morning.

ALMIGHTY and ever-blessed God, Thou eternal Sun of Righteousness, we desire to approach the throne of Thy mercy, with sincere, penitent, and humble hearts. Bless, we beseech Thee, thy waiting servants with the healthful spirit of thy grace. O may we feel Thy sacred presence in a heavenly glow of spiritual devotion, a devotion which lifts the soul above the earth, and brings it to the borders of heaven.

O Lord, Thou hast been Thy people's dwelling-place in all generations! Thou art our Father though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not. Our fathers trusted in Thee; they trusted, and Thou didst deliver them. O may we trust in Thy loving kindness and mercy, and thus experience deliverance from mental slavery and captivity. Thy mighty work—Redemption, which in love and in pity Thou didst perform, has imparted to the human race a power to return to Thee, and to take possession of that unfading treasure—that best of all blessings—even life for evermore!

Gracious Father, we implore thine especial presence in the midst of us, while we further wait upon Thee. Be thou our counsellor, our instructor, and guide. Thou art continually refreshing thy flock from the tranquil waters of truth. Thou art constantly restoring the soul by leading it in the paths of rightcousness.
