Cns. 51-53. 1895. 1027 CHAP. 51.—An Act Authorizing the sale of title of United States to a tract Jnnnuy26.1895. of land in Montgomery County, in the State of Maryland, to William H. and George W Bobinger. · Whereas William H. Bobinger and George Bobinger, of Montgomery i>.·.,,m.r,;.,_ County, Maryland, have been in the peaccable and uninterrupted possession of the tract of land in said county and State, hereinafter described by metes and bounds, for a period of fifteen years, under a claim of title and a bona iidc belief that the same was indefeasible and in them, and under that belief have made valuable improvements _ thereon ; and , Wliereas under recent surveys ordered by the chief engineer of Washiiigton Aqueduct it has been discovered that title thereto is in the United States: Now, therefore, Be it enacted lm the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of War be, wuutu. H. ua and he is hereby, authorized and required to sell, grant, and convey G§‘§,§° *§}""i§jg;_ in untoWilliam H. Bobinger and George Bobinger, of Montgomery County. Montgomery County. in the State of Maryland, all the right, title, and interest of the United Md" l"' States in and unto all that tract of land in said county and State hereinafter described, at a price to be determined by the Secretary of War upon a consideration of all the circumstances of the case, which price shall be exclusive of the value of the improvements on said land: Pro- Proviw- W vided, That the Secretary of War shall be of the opinion that the said ,,,§{,{’,{°,$,;{{’§};Y,*Qt_ m" sale will in no wise be detrimental to the Washington Aqueduct: Pro- 8,,,,, M, 0,,,,,,,,. vided, That the encroachment thereon was not fraudulent and that the tionsaid Bobingers are the bona tide proprietors of the said adjacent land on which said hotel is built: Beginning at a point south eighty-five degrees twenty-one minutes D°¤•=**P°*°¤· west, seventy-six and one-half feet from a stone marked "W. A. N. 43," and running thence north four degrees thirty-nine minutes west forty- seven feet; thence south eighty-tive degrees twenty-one minutes west and parallel with the southern boundary of the United States land next west of Cabin John bridge one hundred and eleven feet; thence south four degrees thirty-nine minutes east forty-seven feet; thence north eighty-five degrees twenty-one minutes east one hundred and eleven feet to the place of beginning, containing five thousand two hundred and seventeen square feet, or about one—eighth of an acre of land. Seaver." ·""""‘“"""‘“‘ Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Act entitled “An i<mr»N.se».m. Act granting a pension to Nettie N. Seaver," received by the President P*"‘“‘°“ ""““"“" August eighth, eighteen hundred and nmety-four, and which became a ·*"**~ P·1°1°· law without his approval, be, and the same is hereby, repealed. Approved, January 28, 1895. CHAP. 53.-An Act For the relief of Michael Scanlon. January 31, 1896. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatires of the United _ States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the gireumiscanicu. Treasury is hereby directed to pay to Michael Scanlon, out of any °Y'°°””°` moneys in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of two hundred dollars, to reimburse him for the loss of a like sum through the dishonesty of a receiver of the United States land office at North Platte, Nebraska.
