Centers while attempting to make an arrest for violation of the internal-revenue laws of the Government. L. Simpson the sum of eighty-eight dollars and ninety cents, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to reimburse him for money stolen from the post-office at Carrollton, Illinois, on the night of January second, eighteen hundred and ninety-seven, by burglars, the said Simpson being at that time the ostmaster at Carrollton, Illinois, and having refunded to the Post—(gHice Department (upon demand) the amount of money so stolen.
