Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That, whereas the United invuatio\?to u?i^' States Olympic Association will invite the International Olympic Committee to hold the Olympic games in the United States at Detroit, Michigan, in 1964, the Government of the United States would welcome the holding of the 1964 Olympic games in the United States and expresses the sincere hope that the United States will be selected as the site for this great enterprise in international good will. SEC. 2. The Secretary of State is directed to transmit a copy of this joint resolution to the International Olympic Committee. Approved April 3, 1959.
