Rough guess for French sculptor based on comparing handwriting with known words throughout the text: Hedouin. Perhaps some sort of misspelling of Houdon? Prosody (talk) 22:01, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

That was my guess as well. I looked up the major French sculptors from the era, and that was the only one that came close. I don't think it would be an obscure sculptor, because of the project, and because none of the others were.--T. Mazzei (talk) 00:36, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
