Title[edit]

@KamranMackey: Please stop moving Executive Order 13971 to Executive Order on Addressing the Threat Posed by Applications and Other Software Developed or Controlled by Chinese Companies, which is not the title of the document per Index:Executive Order 13971 of January 5, 2021.pdf. On the document's original whitehouse.gov page (dead link now), the title is "Executive Order Addressing the Threat Posed by Applications and Other Software Developed or Controlled by Chinese Companies" (there is no "on" in the title). This executive order is officially referred to as Executive Order 13971 of January 5, 2021. And "Executive Order + number" can be seen as the official title of an executive order. --Neo-Jay (talk) 13:13, 25 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

IMHO, there isn't really a reason to have the EO number be the main article title, it's not very explanative of what the executive order actually is, and all of the Executive Orders issued by Joe Biden that have been posted so far on Wikisource have been the full Executive Order name. This should be retroactively applied to older Executive Orders as well, to more easily explain what the purpose of the Executive Order is, and to ease searching of the Executive Orders. - Kamran Mackey (talk to me · my contributions) 13:28, 25 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Are you arguing to rename all documents in Category:Executive orders of Donald John Trump and even in Category:United States executive orders? Using "Executive Order + number" as the title is the long-time practice on Wikisource. I have submitted this issue to Wikisource:Scriptorium. Please don't move pages before a consensus is reached there. Thank you. --Neo-Jay (talk) 13:39, 25 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Neo-Jay: IMHO, it should only retroactively apply to E.O.'s issued by Trump, and maybe other Executive Orders, as time goes on. It shouldn't be done all at once as that's too daunting, but like I said: I do have the opinion that it should be Executive Order on subject / Executive Order subject instead of Executive Order number. - Kamran Mackey (talk to me · my contributions) 13:50, 25 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
@KamranMackey: Thanks for your reply. Let's wait to see whether there will be any consensus reached on Wikisource:Scriptorium. --Neo-Jay (talk) 13:55, 25 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
