Authorizations

Is there any way to find out how much money this act authorized for use in grants to colleges and universities in 2009?

This 1990 Act has been amended a few times since first enacted. A major revision of the entire National - Community - Volunteer Service Programs was passed earlier this year (the Serve America Act, dedicated to the late Ted Kennedy). I'd start looking in TITLE I for that figure but it may be hidden away in some other sub-division of that Act. The other place I think you might check for this is in the Department of Education Appropriations Act, 2009.
