Source[edit]

This was originally posted without specifying the source and later moved as if it came from Weird Tales. However this story has been reprinted multiple times - https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cgi?63258 - and I suspect this was more likely taken from one of the reprints rather than from the original printing.

I guess that it doesn't really matter. Once we have text transcribed directly from Weird Tales, we won't need this version. -- Beardo (talk) 22:55, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Beardo: The text on the page claims to have been first printed in Weird Tales. I agree that it's likely this is a claim about the work rather than about this particular text (edition), but approximate as it is it is the best provenance we have. Hence the move. It also means overwriting it with a transclusion from the scan is legitimate and will resolve the issue definitively.
PS. Glad to see more people being strict about the providence of texts! Xover (talk) 07:25, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
