Source

[edit]

This was originally posted without specifying the source and later moved as if it came from Weird Tales. However this story has been reprinted multiple times - https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cgi?63258 - and I suspect this was more likely taken from one of the reprints rather than from the original printing.

I guess that it doesn't really matter. Once we have text transcribed directly from Weird Tales, we won't need this version. -- Beardo (talk) 22:55, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Beardo: The text on the page claims to have been first printed in Weird Tales. I agree that it's likely this is a claim about the work rather than about this particular text (edition), but approximate as it is it is the best provenance we have. Hence the move. It also means overwriting it with a transclusion from the scan is legitimate and will resolve the issue definitively.
PS. Glad to see more people being strict about the providence of texts! Xover (talk) 07:25, 1 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Now replaced with a transclusion from the scan of WT. Just need to sort out the image. -- Beardo (talk) 04:27, 21 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Beardo: Yay! Thank you! Xover (talk) 08:51, 25 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Heading and image

[edit]

I would be happy if someone else can improve the formatting of the heading.

And I am not sure about the positioning of the image. -- Beardo (talk) 13:39, 26 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

@Beardo: I've replaced the image and used {{img float}} to make sure its caption is connected with it. I've also tweaked the heading a little, but I think that's about as good as you can get it without resorting to images. Xover (talk) 11:43, 25 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much. -- Beardo (talk) 13:09, 25 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
