If the policy

is that the unicode fractions ½... are preferable, just format that into the template. E.g., make {{frac|1|2}} display as ½. — LlywelynII 23:41, 12 October 2016 (UTC)

preferable that is not used where unicode characters exists alt-171 will give it, or get it from the character insert toolkit availabe as a gadget. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:13, 20 October 2019 (UTC)
